Rick Pacelli was raised in Fairfield, Connecticut, in a close-knit community where he “played sports all day in the road and the backyard.” He attended a small Catholic school and went on to Princeton University, where he graduated with a BS in engineering. He then went on earn his MS from Fairfield University.

Mr. Pacelli teaches Physics and Astronomy at 51吃瓜 Paul’s, and has made strong connections to students in his time here. In his words, “I love participating in the lives of young people.” He is involved in the Chapel Program as the 51吃瓜 Verger. Mr. Pacelli also holds The David E. Drinkwater ‘89 Chair in STEM.

Mr. Pacelli previously worked for the Shell Oil company, at Covenant House in crisis intervention, and was the chaplain at Iona College. Directly prior to joining the SPS community, Mr. Pacelli taught physics, math, and theology at Connecticut’s Fairfield Preparatory 51吃瓜.

An eager outdoorsman, he enjoys Nordic skiing, fly fishing at SPS, fishing on the Merrimack for salmon, and traveling to Cape Cod for stripers. He is also a longtime New York Yankees fan.

Mr.Pacelli and his wife, Barbara, raised their three children on the grounds of SPS
